KBIC's mission is to improve the quality of life of people living with brain injury through evidence-based programming, shared experiences, and support in a welcoming community.
KBIC, the David Krempels Brain Injury Center was founded in 1995 by David Krempels, who, after surviving a traumatic car accident resulting in a brain injury, invested his time and money to support other brain injury survivors and their families.
Originally established as an emergency financial assistance program helping individuals and families in crisis as a result of brain injury, the organization’s programs and mission began expanding in 2000 to better meet the post-rehabilitation needs of people living with brain injury. Today, KBIC has built a reputation for offering quality programs and services that contribute to new life after brain injury.
KBIC's vision: Brain injury survivors are included, empowered, and inspired to participate in their communities.
