What is the David Krempels Brain Injury Center?

KBIC, the David Krempels Brain Injury Center, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of people living with acquired brain injury.

In partnership with universities and community volunteers, we are able to offer therapeutic programs at low or no cost that engage our members and their families in meaningful and productive experiences, as well as providing ongoing support groups, educational resources, and advocacy to caregivers, medical providers, and the broader community at large.

Mission

To improve the quality of life of people living with brain injury through evidence-based programming, shared experiences, and support in a welcoming community.

Vision

Brain injury survivors are included, empowered, and inspired to participate in their communities.

Who We Serve

KBIC is committed to its members, adults living with brain injury. Innovative programming is geared toward the unique and varied needs of brain injury survivors. Our community is characterized by a deep and abiding respect for each individual, and the goal of helping each person achieve their maximum potential and satisfaction with life.

At KBIC, you can expect to find a warm and supportive community of members who understand your experience. Devoted staff, interns, and volunteers will help you along your journey. KBIC will provide you with a safe and caring environment while offering opportunities to work on your personal goals, find resources and valuable information, and create an invaluable connection with other survivors of brain injury.

Who knows better what it’s like living with a brain injury than someone already living with a brain injury? Our community offers many opportunities for members to support and advocate for one another, as well as share strategies to help you thrive post-injury.

It helps me maintain progress and learn new skills; I definitely feel sharper, better, when I’m coming to KBIC"
